This is ABSOLUTELY Cottagecore's edgy sister. It's coziness with an eerie and folkloric darkness. Picture overgrown forests, dried herbs, bones, and a hint of danger beneath the calm. It feels like a fairytale that took a darker turn.
I've seen this go a couple of ways. People into this aesthetic love the spooky tales of cryptids in the woods. They lean into those myths and perhaps lean a little witchy.
OR! Some lean into the fanfare of horror/gore media. Kind of creepy, kind of campy. Cottage in the woods, with a Chucky doll.
