Goth

Blooming in the Post-Punk era, Goth is also a music based subculture, that draws heavily from art. It's primary focus is art and culture. It IS pretty political as it welcomes marginalized people, pushes back on beauty standards, and values intellect & individualism. However, there are very many apolitical people within this subculture. This whole topic is very nuanced!

Goth is also an umbrella term as there are different styles of goth such as Trad Goth, Mall Goth, and Woodland Goth. (To name a few.) Generally in fashion, you would see black lace, velvet, leather, dramatic silhouettes, and antique or antique inspired accessories.

* This is a real subculture with history, values, and community behind them, so it deserves to be treated as more than just a look. While my site actively promotes individual expression and finding your "vibe" - I do want to show respect to the communities included in subcultures like this. If you’re drawn to this look, here are some vibes inspired by goth’s drama, romance, and dark elegance: Vampire, Dark Paradise, Dark Academia, Witchy Academia, Ravencore
