Memphis comes from the Memphis Group, an Italian design collective founded in 1981 by Ettore Sottsass. They blew up the design world by rejecting the sleek, serious look of modernism and replacing it with something loud and joyfully chaotic (Also happens to be one of our favorite aesthetics!) It's full of geometry, funky grids, plastic and laminate textures.
